Tour details
Shogun Sailing Cruise – Los Gigantes and Whale Watching
The Shogun is not just any tourist boat. It is an oriental-style sailboat entirely made of teak wood, originally built on private commission from an Arab sheikh. Just seeing this vessel in the harbor is impressive, even before setting sail.
Whales and Dolphins
The south of Tenerife is one of the few places in Europe where whales and dolphins can be observed year-round. The warm waters, trade winds, and the Teide massif, which acts as a natural barrier, create conditions for these animals to stay here permanently. On this route, pilot whales, bottlenose dolphins, common dolphins, and spotted dolphins regularly appear, and with a bit of luck, you might also see fin whales, sperm whales, and orcas. The Shogun holds the Blue Boat certificate, which guarantees observation in accordance with the highest animal protection standards.
Cliffs of Los Gigantes
After observing the animals, the cruise heads towards the cliffs of Los Gigantes. Viewed from the water, they have a completely different appearance than from land: rocky walls that drop straight into the ocean, with no transition between the rock and the water.
Swimming and Lunch
The boat anchors in a calm bay, where there is time to swim in the ocean and enjoy a lunch served on board. The menu includes rice with vegetables, roasted chicken thigh, salad, bread, and fruit. To accompany, there are water, soft drinks, beer, and wine.
Organizational Information
The cruise lasts 5 hours and departs at 12:00 from Puerto Colón, in Costa Adeje. Cruises take place on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. On board, there is capacity for a maximum of 140 people.
After making the reservation, you will receive confirmation of the time and place of pickup.
