Your First Dive in Gran Canaria – PADI Discover Scuba Diving

Have you ever dreamed of diving for the first time and seeing the underwater world of Gran Canaria? The PADI Discover Scuba Diving programme is the perfect choice for anyone who has never dived before and wants to safely try this extraordinary activity.

The whole experience lasts around 3 hours and includes a short theory session, practice in a heated pool, and a dive in the ocean on a scenic volcanic reef in Puerto de Mogán. Hotel transport is also provided if needed.

Theory Session and Pool Practice

The adventure begins with a theory section completed through the PADI eLearning platform, which must be finished before the pool session. Next, under the guidance of a certified PADI instructor, you'll do your first exercises in a heated pool to get used to the equipment and breathing underwater. During this session you'll learn the basic skills needed to dive safely: correctly setting up your gear, breathing underwater, controlling your buoyancy, moving underwater, and basic safety rules.

Diving the Reef in Puerto de Mogán

Once training is complete, you'll head out to the ocean for a dive on the volcanic reef in the bay of Puerto de Mogán. The dive itself lasts around 20 to 30 minutes, at a maximum depth of 6 to 8 metres. Your instructor stays right by your side the whole time.
